Yeah, yeah, you already know this.

Still, there's a couple of book parts you'll have to be very familiar with that most people ignore.


Front and back cover
[Only admins are allowed to see this link]
Protect the book from damage and hold it together. They are also designed to draw the eye of a particular audience, and hint at the contents.

Spine
Faces outward when the book is properly shelved. At its base it holds the book's spine label (dewey number).

Blurb
A block of text on the back of many books that tell what it's about. Some books have the blurb on the front or back of its dust jacket.

Endsheet
Mostly only hardcover books have this. It's a couple of tough sheets stuck into the front of the book to help hold it together.

Table of contents
Glossary
Index
Bibliography


Spine label
Barcode
Dateslip
